Summer Sizzler 2003! |

The Summer Sizzler was a league designed to challange teams of two. Participants competed in everything from an impressive obsticle course to challanging routes & boulder problems. The courses included swinging pendulum drops, 15 foot simulated lead falls, and the "Leap of Faith" - a jump from the ledge on the top of the Buddha, across to holds on another wall! (SCAREY!!!) The teams faught hard and the scores showed it. Team SuperFly came in 3rd place! Jake & Robin both worked hard week after week to build their score! Both are newcomers to the sport, however they are quick learners and promise to have successful climbing adventures (like their recent trip to the Gunks)! Second Place was well earned by Team Nord Wand. Marty & Erich are a father & son team who don't give up. Throughout the four weeks they showed more endurance than any other team. They worked hard, and it paid off in the end! First Place goes to Team Slacker! Mike & Aaron are friends who work well together - even at work! They experienced a little slip up in one event, but they corrected it and never looked back! We hope everyone learned something from the courses we set up, and built some more muscle and endurance by participating in the different events! But most of all, we hope you all had a good time. Prizes will be handed out very shortly!!! We look forward to seeing everyone climbing hard in the gym real soon! MIKE & PAUL |
